When two missing Recon operatives returned to the compound, speculations ran wild about where they had been. Harper is certain they’re infected with a deadly virus, but she’s locked away in the cages, facing ten to twenty years behind bars.

Blaze thinks Harper has a shot at being released, but nobody can save Eli from Constance. Jayden is torturing him for information on his brother’s whereabouts, and as Constance’s newest lackey, Celdon is caught in the middle.

When an outside hacker breaches the compound’s firewall, Celdon becomes an unwitting participant in the drifters’ scheme to bring down Recon.
In the explosive fourth chapter of The Fringe, bullets will fly, loyalties will be tested, and the compound will face a war on two fronts.

Honestly I didn't get "into" the book until I was about 80% done. The cliffhanger was good, but it also felt stale. We've been there before (SPOILER ALERT) with Eli pretending to be Owen and it seems like that's where we'll head for the fifth book, but now you have the added layer of Sage and Jackson, so it might play out differently which will be refreshing. I am fully committed to the series so I will for sure be reading book 5 when it comes out.

*Further SPOILERS Ahead*
Beginning: We start out with both Eli and Harper in custody and taking beatings. Been there, done that. Celdon is still trying to play spy within Constance. And Sawyer is blissfully ignorant (mostly) in H&R.

Middle: Eli and Harper are out of jail and into full love mode! Exhibitionist much? Celdon found out who his mother really was. Sawyer is starting to feel real uncomfortable in H&R under the scrutiny of some rather questionable "patients".

End: Sawyer is patient zero. Celdon has been fully committed to Constance...whether he wants it or not. Eli and Harper are out in the Fringe looking for a cure. Owen was captured, but Eli and Harper vow to save him!

What will happen in the fifth and final installment? I can't wait to find out!

Lockdown The Fringe Book 4 eBook Tarah Benner Reviews

Tarah Benner does not disappoint in book #4 of the Fringe series! This is one of the best of the series and the writing is great. Benner does a wonderful job of crafting a story that draws you in and won't let you put the book down. We learn more about the characters and fall more in love with Harper and Eli. We see pieces come together but learn about new puzzles too. Don't hesitate to read this and the rest of the Fringe series - you won't be sorry.
Well, all I can say is I am waiting for the next one due out in January I want to take this journey with Harper and Eli, the other characters like Owen, Miles, Celton were fun to read and get to know but my heart belongs to Harper and Eli. I just want them fight the good fight - they found each other even with all the craziness going on around them they have the love that inspired others to help them with the fight.
I worried my lip so much by hitting it that it now hurts. Dorky I know but this book does that. I have found myself telling many people how awesome this series is. When I saw recon I was completely engrossed in the idea of reading it. Recon sounded like a fresh new series. I read all 4 books in 3 days. And now I am so worried what's going to happen next. It was edge of your seat stomach bunching white knuckled omg what happens next good
I really enjoy Tarah Benner's writing. I love the world that is the Fringe and also the compound. I didn't think I would like the multiple points of view throughout the book but I ended up really liking some characters that I didn't in the other three books. I like Sawyer and Celdon's character development as well as being able to see into Owen's mind. I can't wait to read the fifth book. If you don't read the author's notes at the end of the books you really should they are fascinating. I can appreciate the research Ms. Benner does while writing.
Read the first four over a couple of days, and I'll need to get the fifth to see how Ms Brenner ends things. Would like to see the two main characters end up together, even tho they are likely the worlds worst couple at communicating.
My single pet peeve is the illogical repeated confrontations with bad guys who are conspiring/attempting to kill the protagonist and his/her lover/partner. Maybe it's just me, but if someone willing and quite capable threatened my wife (and in fact attempted to kill her) they might last 3 or 4 seconds when I next saw them. I understand the story/character context, but it seems unlikely. Must be the way I was raised, or something...
Tarah provides readers with another great chapter of The Fringe series with Lockdown! This books sees the strengthening relationship between Eli and Harper who both are willing to suffer through anything to protect the other. We also get a much more personal view from Celdon, Sawyer and Owen. We, as readers, have the ability to know what motivates each of their actions, but the people closest to them don't have that same insight which makes the conflict more real for the characters.

I love Tarah's world building in her different series. You have a very realistic sense of the lives that the characters are living. I would highly recommend all of Tarah Benner's books! I have read everything she has written so far and she has an amazing ability to picture how the world could be in different scenarios. Her research is thorough and she creates very believable situations. This is my second time through The Fringe series and it is just as good as the first time!
I like the entire series and am looking forward to the last book. The reason I gave 3 stars is that I do not like the constant profanity and sexual situations. Why can't authors just write a good book without the garbage language? I'm so tired of the filthy language and sexual content. I was going to pass these off to my 17 year old granddaughter because we both read dystopian books but I wouldn't pass these off the my 40 year old children. The story line in these books is great and I just ignore the bad language but I still don't like that. If
